About the founder - david greif

HEPOX was born from personal pursuit. While studying mechanical engineering at the University of Arizona, I discovered road cycling and quickly became hooked—racing over 60 events a year and winning multiple collegiate conference titles. As I climbed the competitive ranks, I realized that determination could only take me so far. Like many athletes striving for the elite level, I began tracking calories, working with a coach, and committing to the gym. But without a family background in endurance sports—or a budget for expensive altitude tents—I had to get creative.

I’d read about altitude effects on red blood cell production, but a $6,000 setup wasn’t an option (especially not one that takes over your bed). So I set out to build a better solution. Inspired by how deep sea scuba divers use rebreather systems to recycle oxygen, I engineered a compact, accessible device that mimics high-altitude conditions and supports the body’s natural adaptation process. After testing the early version myself, I noticed a dramatic improvement in my performance—culminating in a professional racing offer after graduation.

Now that I’ve retired from competition, I’m bringing HEPOX to athletes everywhere—to make altitude training accessible, effective, and affordable.
